Description
OVERVIEW
Presented in a chrome casing with blue foam, the Shure Super 55 is a supercardioid dynamic microphone boasting a classic look and vocal-tailored sound for recording sessions, live stage applications, podcasting, and on-camera use. The dynamic cartridge is shock-mounted to impede handling noise and vibrations transferred through your mic stand. The implementation of a supercardioid polar pattern minimizes pickup of off-axis noise and ambience, yielding higher gain before feedback and attenuated stage bleed.
Classic Appearance
In addition to being a mic with solid audio characteristics for the studio and stage, the Super 55 makes a great prop microphone in video shoots, photos, and theater applications
Tailored Frequency Response
The 60 Hz to 17 kHz frequency response features a slight dip in the low-mid frequency range and a gentle rise above 1 kHz, making its sonic performance optimal for vocals, public address, and dialog
Supercardioid Polar Pattern
The supercardioid polar pattern is effective in minimizing sound pickup at the off-axis sections of the capsule, ensuring high gain before feedback
Shock-Mounted Cartridge
The dynamic capsule is shock-mounted for added protection against shock- and structure-born noise
